Looking for a little more wellness in your weekend? Richmond Hill’s Village is bringing plenty of ways to relax, move, create and connect at the 6 Senses Wellness Expo.

The free community event takes over the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, at 10268 Yonge St., on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Organized by the Richmond Hill Business Improvement Area, the expo will bring together local vendors, facilitators and wellness experts, with everything from meditation and martial arts to dance, doodling and robotics.

Visitors can catch live demonstrations, explore a dedicated movement zone, enjoy live music, stop by the photo booth and enter draws for prizes. There will also be a kids zone where younger visitors can get creative.

And yes, there’s gelato involved.

The Richmond Hill Community Food Bank will be collecting non-perishable food donations during the event. The first 100 people to donate food will receive a free five-ounce gelato as a thank you.

After those are gone, donors will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize.

“Whether you’re coming to discover something new, relax, move, connect, or simply spend the day with your community, there’s something for everyone,” the Richmond Hill BIA said.

The expo is part of the BIA’s ongoing efforts to bring more activity to Richmond Hill’s historic Village area along Yonge Street, between Major Mackenzie Drive and Crosby Avenue.

Admission is free. Bring the family — and consider bringing a few non-perishable food items along with you.

I wish they did these more than once a year. One Sunday in September is not a lot. Would love to see something like this every month.

Going for the meditation and the gelato, not going to lie. Hope they still have some left by the time I get there at noon.

Pro tip: the free gelato is for the first 100 food donors, so arriving a little earlier might help your odds, but either way, the meditation will still be waiting for you!

Doodling as a wellness activity is something I did not expect to see on that list but honestly fair enough

Sept 27 is already packed for us but the Richmond Hill Centre is such a great venue for something like this. Hope they do it again in the spring.

The Village area on Yonge really needs more events like this. Glad the BIA is putting in the effort to bring people down there on weekends.

The food bank angle is a really smart touch. Gets people giving and they get something back for it. More events should do this.

Robotics AND meditation at the same event lol ok I am curious how that works but I'll show up to find out

Love seeing the BIA actually do something fun in the Village. That stretch of Yonge has been pretty quiet lately so this is nice.

Free admission AND gelato if you donate food? That is such a good deal. Bringing a couple cans and the kids for sure.

Robotics and doodling at a wellness expo is kind of a weird combo but honestly I am curious enough to go check it out lol

We get it, it's a broad mix, but that's kind of the whole point: wellness means something different to everyone, and we hope the curiosity alone gets you through the door!

Sandra K.Right? At first I thought the same thing but then I figured wellness is kind of broad. If doodling helps you de-stress then it counts lol. I'm curious about the robotics part too.

Love that they picked the performing arts centre for this. Great space for something like a wellness expo. Should be a nice turnout.

Paolo_RHYeah the Centre is a great pick. Lots of room to move around and the parking is decent too which helps. Hoping it draws a solid crowd.

Free admission AND gelato if you bring food for the food bank? That is such a smart idea. Definitely bringing extra cans.

Marie T.Same, already pulled out a few cans from my pantry. Such a better incentive than just asking people to donate. The food bank is going to do really well from this.

We love this reaction, it really is a win-win, and the Richmond Hill Community Food Bank will certainly appreciate every can you bring along!
