Richmond Hill Resources Engages Critical Discoveries for Martello Gold Project Exploration

Richmond Hill Resources has named Critical Discoveries, a Canadian exploration expert, to lead the technical strategy at the Martello Gold Project in Ontario.

The planned work covers historic data digitization, in-depth mapping, and detailed analysis of geophysical and geochemical trends to spotlight prime drill targets.

A comprehensive desktop study is slated for completion by January 31, 2026.

In Quebec, IOS Services Géoscientifiques will spearhead technical activities at the Saint Sophie Copper Project, marking rapid advancement on multiple fronts.

Richmond Hill is pursuing full interest in the Martello property and aims to launch its first drilling campaign in early 2026.

A recent DRONE-MAG survey, covering over 773 line-kilometers, is expected to fill critical data gaps and enhance future exploration.

Local stakeholders are watching closely as these developments promise to invigorate both Ontario’s mining sector and the regional economy.

Honda Suspends Plans for Ontario EV Plant Indefinitely

Honda Canada has indefinitely suspended its massive $15-billion electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing project in Ontario, disrupting ambitious plans for the region’s auto sector.

Launched in April 2024, the project aimed to turn Honda’s Alliston plant into a cornerstone for EV production, with four new facilities, including a dedicated battery plant, and the creation of about 1,000 manufacturing jobs.

Honda cited evolving business conditions, changes in strategy, and shifting customer demand as reasons for the pause.

Operations and employment at Honda’s current Alliston facility remain unaffected, with ongoing production of both gasoline and hybrid Civic and CR-V models.

Industry-wide, automakers are rethinking EV investment amid a decline in North American sales, accelerating a shift toward hybrids.

Despite government commitments of up to $5 billion in funding, Honda received no transferred funds before suspending plans, leaving the future of Canadian EV manufacturing under scrutiny.
