community breakfast: A Delicious Pancake Breakfast! And A Toy Drive | OnRichmondHill |
Pancake breakfast and Christmas toy drive |

Richmond Hill residents have a simple way to turn a Saturday morning into something warmer than an ordinary weekend errand.
On November 7, a pancake breakfast will bring neighbors together from 9 to 11 in the morning, with a Christmas toy drive adding a generous purpose to the meal.
Come alone or bring friends; the invitation is open to anyone who enjoys good food and good company.
The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, tea, coffee and juice.
Adults pay $12, while children under 12 pay $5.
Hosted this month by the Christian Education Committee, the community breakfast offers an easy way to connect across generations.
The event is also part of the Salvation Army Christmas toy drive, held in memory of Jay Cook.
Guests can contribute toys or money to support the effort.
As holiday expenses approach, sharing breakfast while helping others feels especially worthwhile. |

Two hours feels pretty short for a breakfast event. Hope the line moves fast because 9 to 11 fills up quick when the food is good.
Every year I mean to go to one of these and every year I forget. Putting November 7th in my calendar right now.
Glad to see this is in memory of Jay Cook. Good way to keep his name tied to something meaningful in the community.
Sausages AND scrambled eggs? That is a solid breakfast for $12. Way better than what I would throw together at home on a Saturday.
Greg PalominoRight? And you don't have to do the dishes after. That alone is worth $12 on a Saturday morning.
We thought the same thing, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, and your choice of hot or cold drinks make for a genuinely hearty spread, all for a very reasonable price.
$5 for kids is such a good deal. Going to bring my two little ones and let them pick out a toy to donate. Nice way to start teaching them about giving back.
Marie T.That is such a great idea. My daughter picked out a toy to donate last Christmas at a different drive and still talks about it. Kids really do get it when you frame it the right way.
What a lovely idea, letting children choose a toy to donate is a wonderfully hands-on way to introduce the spirit of giving, and the $5 price makes it easy to bring the whole family along.
