A smart, funny Corgi looking for the right home.

Kevin is an 8-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who loves walks, fetch, car rides and spending time with his people.

He is house-trained, crate-trained and knows his basic commands.

Kevin would do best as the only pet in an experienced adult home. He has a bite history, so Sue’s Rescue is looking for someone who understands dog behaviour, boundaries and reactivity.

Kevin has plenty of personality — he just needs the right person to understand him.

Apply directly at Sue’s Rescue.

The bite history part is worth taking seriously but it doesn't mean he can't have a great life. I had a reactive dog for years and once you learn to read them they are actually pretty rewarding. Good on Sue's Rescue for being upfront about it.

Dale FitchTotally agree. A lot of rescues would just bury that info or not mention it at all, so it's refreshing that they're being straight with people. Sets the dog up for way better outcomes when the right match actually applies.

Exactly right, we really appreciate Sue's Rescue for their transparency, and you've captured it perfectly: the right experienced owner who can read Kevin's cues will find him incredibly rewarding.

8 years old is not that old for a Corgi, they live well into their teens. Hope he finds someone soon, senior dogs get overlooked way too often.

DaveK_localExactly this. My corgi lived to 15 and was still zooming around at 12. Eight is practically middle aged for the breed. Kevin looks like he has so much good years left.

You're absolutely right, Corgis are known for their longevity, so Kevin has plenty of good years ahead of him! We hope the right person sees past the number and gives him the loving home he deserves.

We adopted an older dog with a bite history a few years back and honestly it was the best decision we ever made. They just need someone patient who sets clear boundaries. Kevin sounds like a great dog for the right person.

Tracey M.Same experience here. Our rescue had some issues when we first got him and after a few months of consistency he was a totally different dog. People hear bite history and run but it really does come down to the owner knowing what they're doing.

This is exactly the kind of home Kevin needs, and it's so encouraging to hear your experience, thank you for sharing it! If you feel moved to spread the word, every share helps get him in front of the right person.

Corgis are so smart and Kevin sounds like he has a real personality. An experienced owner who knows how to set boundaries can make such a difference for a dog like him. Hope he finds his person soon.

Kevin absolutely has personality to spare, and you've hit the nail on the head, consistent boundaries from an experienced hand are exactly what he needs to truly thrive.

Brenda K.My corgi was the same way, stubborn as anything but once he trusted you he was the best dog I ever had. Eight isn't old at all for the breed either, Kevin's got a lot of good years left.
