After years of being left behind, this sweet Bully Shepherd mix is finally getting a chance at the life she should have had all along |
Athena’s story is a hard one to understand.
Years ago, her owners left her at a boarding facility before going on vacation — and never returned.
She spent years living in a kennel, waiting for a life that never came. Yet despite everything, Athena still loves people.
She’s described as incredibly sweet and affectionate, and she has done well with the dogs she has met. She can take a little time to feel comfortable in new situations, but once she settles in, her gentle personality comes through. She is currently living with a Shepherd foster brother and getting along well.
Now Athena is discovering a very different world — new sounds, new routines, city life, and more freedom than she has known in years. She’s adjusting remarkably well.
Athena is spayed, vaccinated and receives regular flea and tick prevention.
She deserved better a long time ago.
Now, the hope is simple: to find Athena a loving home, a family, and finally, someone who comes back for her. |

We adopted a dog who had a similar background and it took her a few weeks to trust us but once she did she never left our side. Athena sounds like she has so much love to give.
