Richmond Hill bargain hunters can turn a Saturday outing into meaningful support at a huge garage sale benefiting Home on the Hill Supportive Housing.

Set for October 24, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the sale takes place at 21 Centre Street East.

This charity garage sale offers bargains while supporting neighbors who need stable housing.

Organizers welcome garage sale donations of kitchenware, home decor, purses, jewelry, books and games.

Items can be dropped off October 19 through 23, between 4 and 8 p.m.

Furniture, clothing and appliances cannot be accepted.

Volunteers are also welcome.

Went to their sale a couple years back and picked up some great finds. Just wish they could take furniture because I have a bookshelf in perfect condition taking up space in my garage.

Rob TilleyI feel that about the bookshelf. I had the same problem last year. Facebook Marketplace ended up being my solution but it took forever to get a response. Hope you find a taker for it!

So glad you've supported the sale before! Unfortunately furniture is one of the items they're unable to accept, but perhaps a local buy-nothing group could give that bookshelf a great new home while you free up some garage space.

Already going through my kitchen stuff to donate. I have so many extra mugs and serving dishes just sitting in cupboards. Happy they have a whole week of drop off times too, makes it easy to fit in.

Sandra K.Same here! I have a whole shelf of mugs I never touch. The drop-off window is really helpful, I work late most nights so having that 4 to 8 window gives me options.

Those extra mugs and serving dishes are exactly what they're looking for, kitchenware is on the accepted list! The five-day drop-off window (October 19, 23, 4, 8 p.m.) really does make it convenient to squeeze in.

Good cause but wish they could take clothing donations too. I have bags of stuff just sitting here with nowhere to go.

We completely understand the frustration, unfortunately, logistics make clothing difficult to manage for an event of this scale, but local thrift stores and textile drop-offs are a great option for those bags!

Paul ReevesTry the Salvation Army drop off on Yonge, they take clothing year round. At least that way the bags don't keep piling up while you wait for another sale.

Love this! Home on the Hill does such good work in the community. Already setting aside some kitchenware to drop off next week.

Sandra M.Same here! I have a box of mugs and some serving dishes that have just been collecting dust. Nice to know they'll go to a good cause instead of the landfill.

That's wonderful to hear, drop-off runs October 19 through 23 between 4 and 8 p.m., so you have plenty of time to bring those items over to 21 Centre Street East!
